A la tête d’un consortium international, l’équipe, dirigée par le Dr Frédéric Ebstein et le Pr Stéphane Bézieau, a identifié un nouveau gène défectueux responsable d’une forme rare de déficience intellectuelle, associée à des troubles du comportement et une obésité récurrente chez de jeunes enfants. Ces travaux prometteurs sont publiés dans la revue scientifique American Journal of Human Genetics.

Nathalie Gaborit, chercheuse en biologie cellulaire à l’institut du thorax (UMR 1089 - CNRS - Inserm - Nantes Université) dans l'équipe Canaux ioniques et cardiopathies, est l'une des lauréates de la médaille de bronze du CNRS 2022.
Les chercheurs de l'institut du thorax (Nantes Université - Inserm - CNRS - CHU de Nantes) viennent de révéler les bases génétiques du Syndrome de Brugada, une maladie rare entrainant un risque élevé de mort subite cardiaque chez le jeune adulte. Leurs travaux, publiés dans la prestigieuse revue Nature Genetics, ont une portée bien plus vaste : ils ouvrent de nouveaux horizons pour la prévention de maladies plus fréquentes touchant le rythme cardiaque.
